The Kittanning Band Booster organization is a parental portion and behind-the-scenes backbone of our children's band activities. We strive to provide comfort, sustenance and emergency supplies and service to the band during the marching season. We also help to organize most of the fundraising projects that pay the bills and allow the band to particpate in tournaments, trips, festivals and parades. One of our most enjoyable tasks is to plan the end-of-the-year banquet as a reward for all that these great young musicans have accomplished througout the year.
Our meetings are held monthly throughout the year, generally at 7 PM in the band room. We can only encourage as many parents as possible to attend, especially in these busy "teenager" years. There is a suprising amount of work that needs to be done so it is important to enable as many parents as possible.!
We need enthusiasm and parent power!! Our fundraising needs have not changed much but the costs of everything have. We provide additional staff as requested by Mr. Cavanaugh and we transport our equipment via trailer in an effort to make bus rides SAFE and LEGAL. However, participation is expected just for the sake of your children!!
Please try to attend the meetings. The exchange of information and decision making is easier with a variety of input. Too often students don't communicate with parents on important issues with regards to the band. I hope to see you there. - Thank You
